Although we received only two challenge pieces from our summer contest, the voting is still on for 1st and 2nd place! We are delighted with the entries! Both artists have received free tickets to the Creative Stitches Show in October and are eligible for prize money!

TAKE A CLASS FROM OUR NEWEST TEACHER!
We get so excited every time we have a new teacher to introduce to you! Our newest "kid on the block" is Geri - and she's no stranger to many of you! Geri has taken Artista Club, Kathy's Club, numerous other classes and been a retreat participant for years. This year we are proud to announce "Geri's Club"! This group will meet once a month on a Thursday night and create a beautiful kids' quilt while learning to use the built-in decorative stitches on their machines, and a variety of fibre and embellishing tricks. THE EDMONTON MODERN QUILT GUILD! FIRST MEETING SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPT 22!
We are proud to be helping with the launch of the Edmonton Modern Quilt Guild! Such guilds have already been set up throughtout the US, and here in Canada, notably in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver! The first "physical" meeting of the Guild is here, at Quilter's Dream North (10736 124 Street) On Wednesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. However, you may join the Guild on-line, and participate through Twitter, FB and the Guild's blog! ANOTHER GREAT CUSTOMER QUILT!
Stephanie pieced this wonderful kid's quilt and quilted it on her Pfaff 18.8 and the quilt frame!!! The upclose detail shows the puppy foot motif that she used. Her fabric choices were a line of gradations - sadly sold out now (we think she bought them all!)

NEW CLASS! KIDS SEW FOR KIDS!!!
It's important for our children to learn the importance of giving of themselves, their time, and their talents to the less fortunate. With this in thought, we are happy to announce our KIDS SEW FOR KIDS program. On the last Saturday of each month, from 10:00 until 12:00, we are hosting a class (with instruction) at our south store. Kids will be sewing simple quilts, totes etc., to be donated to the less fortunate. Fabrics and supplies will be donated (kids should bring a basic sewing kit), and machines will be donated by Johnson's Sewing Centre for use in class! This is for all kids age 7 to 12!!!!! It's important to preregister for this, as there's only room for a set number of participants! The registration fee of $14 per session covers instruction fees AND a small kit that each participant can take home with them after - they will work on a community project in class, and on a small project for themselves as well!

Want to take a class but the date doesn't work for you? You have options! You can enlist four of your quilting/sewing buddies to come up with a time that works for you and our instructor, and create your own class date!!!
Interested in a class but don't see it in our listings? Give us a call and we will put you on a waiting list! When we get four people who have similar interests, we will gladly find an instructor and set up a class for you!
